There are many ways of fostering and promoting these attributes, but reading picture books is a fun, engaging, effective, and creative way.
In the elementary library we have been evaluating our collection and classifying in the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) all the books in resource lists for each learner profile attribute. By accessing this catalog all users can easily choose from a variety of books to read that can help facilitate the discussion of each of these attributes.
Next week I will begin a series of articles called Reading for Attributes in Robinson School in order to share the vast selection of wonderful stories that we have that can provoke the reflection of these attributes that are so important for all of our students.
Stay tuned for our first post of this series. The first attribute that we will explore in the magical world of the library will be: Knowledgeable.
